Every expanding company will eventually look for a source of cash to fuel that expansion. But where do you go to find investors, what questions will they ask when you do find them, and how should you pitch your ideas to them? Fortunately, technology-based companies in the Mid-Atlantic region have a place. It’s called TechBUZZ, and you need to be there.

Tech BUZZ is a sometime event sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association, whose mission is to bring together technology entrepreneurs and potential investors. TechBUZZ events do just that, and the atmosphere at these events can be electric! The next event is on September 13, 2013.

The format of a TechBUZZ event is to allow a dozen or so entrepreneurs to make very short presentations before panels of investors and receive real-time feedback while the entire audience of attendees is watching. Everyone learns a tremendous amount about the process of pitching a company to investors.

You may be too late to get on the schedule to present at the upcoming TechBUZZ, but you should register and go anyway. You will learn a lot just by being around other entrepreneurs and investors, and of course by watching the presentations and listening to the feedback.

Sorry, I don’t know of any similar event for the non-technology companies that are looking for investors. Hmm, maybe I should start one myself? But TechBUZZ is so exciting, you should consider going even if you don’t plan to have a Chief Technology Office slot at your company.
